Mackenzie, 2017

Ceiling within the museum, of a sky with clouds

I am from Stz’uminus First Nation

I am looking for eagles in the sky

I am learning to be more myself

I am listening to powwow

I am remembering playing in the forest

the sun shining on the trees , warmth on my face.

I used to speak Hul’qumi’num

But its lost–since I moved.

I am proud to be First Nations

I am running in the grass with butterflies

I am chasing my cousins through the forest

I am hoping to see my family back together

I am living a full life

One foot in each world.
