Young woman, as a blurred image

I am Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw

I am looking for my happiness,

(I was seven)

to come back again

I am learning to speak my language

I am listening to the rain fall and drip down my window,

in the mornings

I am remembering the times when my dad took me to parks,

to play

I used to walk all the way,

through grasses, with music, alone.

I am waiting for the big beautiful warm sun to come out-again

I am running on the memories and the music to get me through rough days

I am chasing my day dreams by the tip of its tail

I am hoping by the time I open my eyes, that everything will be back to normal

I am living

I am.
