Young woman, holding an arrow.

We are not like the stereotyped Hollywood Indigenous people, the ones that ride horses and shoot bows and arrows and wear headdresses. They are based on Plains First Nations; other nations are totally different. Horses came to the plains in the 1700s.

Modern-day Indigenous people have dyed hair and have recognition in the community. And we get roles in movies. We still have arrows from our history, but they're old arrows. Sometimes people use our land without asking and that is not right.
