Love conquers all

Two people dressed in wedding atire kissing through blue surgical masks

My husband and I have been together for 10 years now. We got engaged in August 2019 and decided on a Summer wedding. We planned and viewed venues and also became pregnant, so we re-planned and visited new venues closer to home, we decided to stick with our summer wedding, as our son was due in May 2020.

When Covid first arrived in BC and restrictions got tight we did think about postponing our wedding until 2021 but as we got closer to the date some restrictions eased and weddings were still allowed with limited numbers. We went ahead and made the call to have it as planned with limited number of guests. Our original guest count was 175 and that was just our families. We got it down to 20 people. We did always want something smaller and more intimate, and why not mark this crazy year with more positive. We had our son during Covid, why not have our wedding too. We got married with family around and streamed the ceremony for those who were out of province. Our wedding day was not what we once thought it would be but it was perfect for us. We had our ceremony at what is now known as Saxe Pointe Park here on beautiful Lekwagen territory.
